MilwaukeeMarcus Theatres® and Movie Tavern® celebrate the year’s most acclaimed films with the annual Best Picture Showcase featuring individual, passport, and marathon screening options. Presented by Marcus Movie Club, the circuit’s movie subscription service, the showcase is designed to help moviegoers catch up or revisit the films nominated to win Best Picture on Hollywood’s biggest night, Sunday, March 15.

 “Awards season is one of the most exciting times of the year for movie lovers,” said Mark Gramz, President of Marcus Theatres. “Our Best Picture Showcase allows guests to experience these films the way they were meant to be seen, on the big screen, while offering flexible viewing options and exceptional value.”

BEST PICTURE SHOWCASE PRESENTED BY MARCUS MOVIE CLUB
The Best Picture Showcase is comprised of the 10 films nominated for the 98th Annual Academy Awards and this year’s nominated animated and live-action shorts. BEST PICTURE PASSPORTS

Commit to a marathon available at 26 Marcus Theatres’ locations. Best Picture Marathons are broken into two screening days, each featuring five films. 

  • Marcus Best Picture Marathon: See five of the Best Picture nominees on March 7 for $35. Attendees also receive a Marcus Movie Club lanyard and a 20% discount on concessions, food and beverage purchases on 3/7.
  • Marcus Best Picture Marathon: See five of the Best Picture nominees on March 14 for $35. Attendees also receive a Marcus Movie Club lanyard and a 20% discount on concessions, food and beverage purchases on 3/14.

BEST PICTURE LINEUP
Bugonia (R) – Two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.

F1: The Movie (PG-13) – A Formula One driver comes out of retirement to mentor and team up with a younger driver.

Frankenstein (R) – Dr. Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.

Hamnet (PG-13) – After losing their son Hamnet to plague, Agnes and William Shakespeare grapple with grief in 16th-century England. A healer, Agnes must find strength to care for her surviving children while processing her devastating loss.

Marty Supreme (R) – Marty Mauser, a young man with a dream no one respects, goes to hell and back in pursuit of greatness.

One Battle After Another (R) – When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to rescue the daughter of one of their own.

The Secret Agent (R) – In 1977, a technology expert flees from a mysterious past and returns to his hometown of Recife in search of peace. He soon realizes that the city is far from being the refuge he seeks.

Sentimental Value (PG-13) – An intimate exploration of family, memories, and the reconciliatory power of art.

Sinners (R) – Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

Train Dreams (PG-13) – Based on Denis Johnson's beloved novella, Train Dreams is the moving portrait of Robert Grainier, a logger and railroad worker who leads a life of unexpected depth and beauty in the rapidly-changing America of the early 20th Century.
